a it's a X variable that's an unknown variable I don't remember we know we know what we don't know we don't know like um I'm sorry if I could we don't know what we know that doesn't make any sense we don't know what we don't know which is yes the typical mistake that a lot of
beginners in any discipline make is that they don't know what they actually haven't made it far enough to realize they don't know. Very similar to the Confucianism is that um the master is still a student and he learns from his own students and as soon as you pretend you know everything you
stop learning then you know nothing. Those are very wise words and hence the importance of always having a learner's approach to any discipline. The moment that you think that you have learned it all is the moment that you actually stop evolving. The moment you stop learning. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. That spiritual stagnation. Yeah.
Absolutely. Absolutely. And also we have like a lot of maybe like of karmic lessons to learn in this life. And so there's things that we should embrace that may be difficult but they're there to like bring us to higher levels to like learn to learn the most and to experience the most and to learn the most profound lessons. So
well I think yeah I think of two examples like one is like in martial arts you wear your black belt so much that eventually because of its wear itself it turns white meaning that you become a beginner all over again
and you have to learn everything all over again and I think that there's one constant that we cannot control obviously Because the concept which is the concept of time and if we have done well we'll find ourselves in a teaching position and all we can do in order to
honor our art or discipline or whatever we have devoted our lives to is to share it with the next generation and put it in their hands. You know, there's a big quote like for those that come after, just present them with everything that you have learned up until that point and
allow them to just do as they may like to serve for those that come after. Yep. It's all it's all a continuation process. But I I just don't think that I think we should like learn from our our past battles so we can prevent more
serious battles in the future. Like if we want pieces like the general direction we want to be going for Absolutely. everybody. Safety and security. Set our future up for success. Like hopefully you know sincerely hopefully we put the next generation through less suffering and more success than we had
to experience. Because we can take that suffering and minimize it for the next generations. Yep. Yeah. It's like we have it's like right now is actually our moment. Like we're here like think about like all the billions of years that have passed and we're like right here in this m this billions of years in this little small window of time we have on this planet.
It's a very small like little segment in this huge you know almost infinite of you know area of reincarnations perhaps or you know this spiritual evolution we get we have a good opportunity right now but remember we have all this power in the here and now not in the past on the in the future but right now it's all time
is all relative I don't think it's okay when they absolutely psyche beautiful words like you know I've been listening a to um meditations by Marcus Aurelius and I love it so much. Like I go into the sonnet and it sucks. I'm not
going to lie, but it keeps me going through it. Like there's words are so deep and one of the things like he talks about not being remembered like like don't try to be remembered like we're all going to die. We're all going to be forgotten. Like just live in the moment. Like just serve your fellow human being, but don't
don't think that you're so important that you're going to make this huge mark on the planet. Like just live for what you can do in this moment. Serve others well and you know enjoy enjoy the moment that you have because we're all just a little peep and the
long long constant that is time. Lovely. The meaning of life is the will to exist in the face of overwhelming obser adversity when everything wants to kill you. Oh, especially in Australia. I mean, those words coming from an Australian in
a land where everything genuinely wants to kill you hit harder, right? Even the sun wants Even the sun wants to give me cancer. Yeah, true. And you know what? And people can survive like a lot of hostile environments. They can go into like, you know, just like Daniel the lion's den,
right? It's like and some guys can go in the lion's den and like they'll get devoured by the lions. Some guys can go to the lion's den and he can he knows how to pet the cats, right? And so it's like going to be a different experience based on, you know, a lot of different factors, right? Maybe little janesse qua, right? Um, Yeah, we all know there's Okay, so yeah,

there's a lot of um stuff about divisive stuff about politics. Politics is really like, you know, it's a two-party system. There's a lot of two-party systems all throughout the world, right? And they're their wings on a on one bird, right? You can't have one without the other. It's been 10 years, hasn't it? And they're still talking about Trump
locking everyone up and it has happened. What are you talking about? Yeah.
I think that culturally a lot of people are driven for a need to fit in. Whether that is to support one side or the other, even if they don't necessarily have a sense of conviction that supports either side, they just want to fit in. They don't want to be
left out. And we're dealing with such extremes where two very different cultural extremes that it's either like if you don't support this this belief or this politics then you better support the other side otherwise you're just going to be an outcast and you're not
going to fit in anywhere and a lot of people cannot handle that. Yeah. But that's like that's like the two side. But that's like, you know, the difference between like being on the chess board and like and like watching the chess game or playing the chess game. It's like the the pieces get moved around, but there's people that are sitting either watching the game, not being p pushed around, but like it can be said they might be having
effects on the game, but there's somebody there's people playing the game and there's people being moved around the game. I think the point is to like get off the board and like Yeah. Part of the game, part of the game is is is uh influence. As we discussed last time, remember about influence and whoever is being able to have a better
influence on the people than but they they but they're good at dividing the people. They're good at dividing people by race, by just right, race, sex, every every sexuality. sexuality, you know, age,
a million categories, but yeah. Yeah. So, they're so good at they are good at like dividing people up and putting on the duality. It's like the whole black and white of the chess board. It's like that's why they play the racist against each other and like they publicize a lot of these racially incendiary cases about, you know, people
get upset about police, you know, brutality and stuff. Uh that's what we're presented with. So these are to socially engineer us basically into like the world that they want which ends justify the means I think is the saying and justify the means but is that like really do we really know what the
ends will be like that we're achieving we really know what that will mean to achieve that goal sometimes we don't know so anyway and at the end certain virtues like trust and respect don't see any type of collar or sexuality at all. Like, and
that's how you become part of your society, you know? it's like so many people in the knife makers guild just like buy a lump of steel and grind it out and send it away for someone else to heat treat. And I'm like you just that's just No. What's your do you have a favorite type of steels for for that you like to work
with? H I can use any kinds of steel because I can bind them together and make a matrix of different steels. So it doesn't really matter. Wow. I'll select a good range of different ones and weld them together into a pattern and make multiple calls out of them and then weld the calls together and then the cutting edge is on.
Oh, hell yeah. Wow. This is so Yeah. intriguing. I remember when I lived in Germany, they they definitely they couldn't have like a potato peeler outside of the house or a knife, but
crossbows are legal. It was interesting. It's just uh it's I I find international laws in regards to weaponry very very intriguing. Um, and I honestly I think that in a place I've had a few American
friends that moved to Australia and and they are they they seem to think that uh it is one place in the world where you could definitely benefit from some uh firearms because of all the nature. But it's uh again these are just people
that are going to immigrate from here and immigrate there. So, it's interesting, you know, you know, you know how to survive um with what you have and that's that's quite respectable as well as intriguing. Oh, hell yeah. Beautiful man.
Very, very, very nice. Thank you. And that's a triple core one made from chainsaws. The middle core is flat layered then twisted into the stars and then two outer cores like mossy oak pattern from welded together chainsaw chain. And so the chain itself has like
three or four types of different tool steel in it already. Nice. Yeah. I love that. So I call that I call that me husbana. That's me big Viking knife. Oh hell yeah. Yeah. They call it a scram that traditionally it's called a scram sacks.
I love uh Scandinavian culture. So like I'm looking at my own knife right now. It's made out of S30V as in Victor steel. S30V. You'd have to tell me more about the mill specs and what in it rather than just a number on it. I've got this stuff
called Japanese sub 9, but it's literally just Japanese spring steel that's highend uh nickel for the flexibility and a touch of chromium for the hardening and it's like a 6 grade steel. It's good one for full size blades. You don't want to
go up to like, you know, 95 carbon and for like a full size blade unless you're just welding edges on. I like those. I've got a nice little set in my Indiana Jones bag cuz I got false teeth now.

Here's my Indiana Jones sack. And has another sack attached to my sack. Let me go back to you. Uh, where are we now? In here. I just got to unlock it cuz I'm in
Australia. I keep my like little kit locked up. And then I got some spare chopping up scissors. Some fold out scissors. Oh nice. And the little flint steel in there. But yeah, my key stays like trapped inside my bag. Do you like throwing knives or axes?
Um, I got other more traditional things for that kind of stuff, but I um hand make my own bows and stuff, so I've never really had to like I do have a really nice dagger here that's super well balanced. I could show you in a bit. Oh, and that's asex as well. And that's one I've made. It's got like a nice antique
black iron on it. And that's an Aussie hardwood handle with nose down the side that's like completely center fit. Oh wow. And so even if the back end hits even if the back end hits you, it's still got like a steel butt plate that's like Yeah. And you can also break a window with
that. Like if you need to break a window to go through. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. A good hammer pummel. Yes. is um that's required on a Bowie knife or your um combat whatever. So, here's my little kit. Also, I got some um I got some napkins in there.
I got some bamboo cutlery and some wrapped up. And then these are the the bokeh ones. These are really nice. Yeah. And you can wear them in like your coat pocket and it looks like a pen like that. Oh, wow. No one knows what it is, but they're
bloody lovely. Nice. Oh, yeah. That's beautiful. They're slip jointed, so you got to like hold your thumb on the back because I think in Australia you get in more trouble if you got locking knives and But this is just like a slip joint. Oh yeah.
Hell yeah, dude. Wow. And so it's it's the least violent, most gentlemanly nice pocketk knife I could get. Well, I mean, you sometimes you got to cut rope. Like it's not it's not always combat. It's not always tactical. Sometimes you got to cut fruit, vegetables. I got another matching bokeh that's more
of a traditional folder. And it's just got your normal like um Victoria Knox style just spine lock. You don't have to click a thing, but just a normal one. But on the other side, it's got Look at that.

That's one thing here in the US we lack is is clubs the guild um I I I have a club for my main discipline is under uh I don't know German organization but here in the United
States like clubs is usually based on sports uh not uh not a lot of other disciplines really or perhaps I'm ignorant to it but at least I can speak for for my own
discipline is under a German club um because there's a lot to be learned from you know the structure that comes with being part of a guild or club and it's a it's something that in my opinion you know something that can outlive you it's very here in the US everything is
what a business. So, let's say if I own a business and and I I die, there's and I don't assign somebody to continue with my business, then the business just kind of dies. But if I'm part of a club or a guild, Hannah's got something related in chat that's like related to what you're saying, but the
opposite. It's like Aussies are so like more party in the back and business at the front that we we let our politicians get away with anything and we're overruled, overlicicensed overfined overgoed. Everything you need approval for, you know? Like you can't even dig a
hole in your backyard without someone looking over your fence going, "Oh, mate, what are you digging that hole for? You got a license to dig that hole? you got to ring the council and ask him if you could dig that hole. It's like me. And that's like that cost you money to like apply for approval to dig your hole. It's just Yeah, it's man.
It's like approval for you like you got to get license for the slightest little thing right? Yeah. We got this joke in New South Wales, my state, which is the worst one in Australia, but we got the biggest population that paid the most taxes. And so it's like we we joke to people from other states or mate, have you got a license for your license?
And that's literally what it's like, man, to do and they come from another state and they're like, "What do you mean I need approval to do this? We just do it all the time where I'm from." No. Where's your license? You need a license for your license. It's stupid. That that's very I remember when I was
in Germany everything needed a little license. Even like dogs, like a little tiny Daxons, they needed a muzzle to go and build in the train. Like just rule after rule after rule. And people get tired of that. Like a lot of Americans, it's all right. It's all right. In a small town in the country where people know you because everyone just looks the
other way and no one talks about anything to anyone. And um yeah, there's just no problem. It's only a problem if you piss someone off and they complain about it. complain. Makes sense. But like a lot of Americans don't realize that in Europe you have to pay to use the bathroom. Like you have
to pay like to piss or like like here you can go into any public establishment or good. So I remember talking to uh when I was in Holland a friend that he was a father or he is still a father and and he was saying like like yeah they they find my child
because he was just like peeing on the side but we had nowhere else to go and it was it felt so crazy to me because here I mean we there's so many public restrooms but in Europe you have to pay to be able to use the public restroom. And a lot of Americans just think that,
oh no, that is just Yeah, we don't do that in Australia. No. Okay. Okay. In my where I live, we got like free town barbecues in the parks that are just prefueled. You just walk up and click the button and they're good to go. These big stainless steel ones.
It's just human, dude. Like, how can you charge people for that? It's that is That's crazy. If I didn't have gas, when I'm van life, just like at the end of the campground, there's like free barbecues and you click the button and the heat comes on. Oh, very nice. You just got to stand there and put your oil on it, give it a wipe down and clean it. Very, very nice.
Yeah it's And free public barbecues and everyone respects them and keeps them in really good condition cuz all the locals are watching you, you know. Yeah. If you start with them, we'll get up here. Oh, as a community, right? Like the whole like as a culture, you don't tolerate people with their Yeah.
Nice. Sometimes we need that. Like sometimes we need Brian's asking me, do I use um gas or coal? Um, I started off making my own charcoal like in the drum and everything like the I didn't use coaked coal. I
used um like tinsmith's kind of charcoal like Japanese style but then I switched over to a um Bunson burner handmade forge with LPG gas and you can just turn the dial and throw the match in and away you go. No around. and I can turn it up and down from
welding temp to whatever I want. So, that has worked out better for me. I did some grilling today uh for the 4th of July, but with propane, nothing truly manly. Some burgers and hot dogs. Um, but I want to learn how to do it with
cold. I think that will be good survival skill to have. Now I grew up around indigenous folk and we do a lot of cooking in like the hot ashes underneath the fire once it burns down. Like you got you gut like you gut your fish but you leave the skin and scale on
it and so you putting it and can stuff it with something so crap doesn't get inside it. that you put some kind of like weed that's on the bank that's high in vitamin C like some sea cabbage or some lemon weed or something. There's always something that tastes like lemon or pepper on the bank when you catch a fish. Guarantee it. You just got to know what you're doing.
And then you shove that inside it and you cook it in the hot coals and the ashes. Like you use layers of ashes to insulate it from the coal and then you put a little bit of the coals on top and um yeah just like bakes it like an oven and then you peel the skin and scale off as like one piece of like crap and then you got your clean smoked meat
underneath. Very very very amazing. it works really well for snake too. Now It works well for snake too. If you ever get a rattlesnake or whatever, if you're ever in America. Yeah. Oh man, rattlesnakes are no joke. But
okay, so I'm very curious if you were to pick a vehicle that can traverse the Outback in the best way possible. Which vehicle do you think is one of the most suitable to traverse the Outback? The Toyota Hilux.
Toyota Highlander. Yeah. Really? Oh, wow. Okay. This is very, very, very interesting. And why do you say that? Because the bestselling car in Australia
and they just kick ass over everything. All right. Awesome. There was no doubt at all as far as answering that one. That's good. Ash Ash says Kia. I've got a Toyota um high the long
wheelbase trady one and I've got all this spare caravan stuff from my old van. So once I get all this sorted out and all me wiring and stuff done, I'm going to use my leftover batteries in there. Extra fridge. I'm going to pull out some of these cushions and put my desk in because I'm I'm just sitting over a couch at the moment, but all
that's going to get off and build into cupboards and a proper desk. Um, yeah, me beds and stuff are up the back. That's all fine. Um, uh, yeah. So, I'm going to sell the Toyota van. I got the long like tradey van where they keep the tools and in. But I don't know if I want to sell
it as a camper or I literally deck it out as a little workshop cuz I don't have my blacksmith forge with me anymore. But I can bring enough tools for me to play around and like make Like I can just have like a little bench in there for using me Dremel and stuff so I'm not getting dust all over me computers and stuff. Yeah, that would be that would be way.
And now with the internet, you can perhaps advertise a little bit like like sharpen people's knives and things like that. I just do that around camp anyway and we just trade But um yeah, I've got the belt grinders and everything, man. I got a bunch of different sizes of them. And I'm figuring out like which one do I want, the super huge one with everything
cuz I'm never selling that one. I I made it myself and welded up the frame and everything. It's got eight different contact wheels from 8 in for hollow grinds down to like quarter inch for doing like the grooves in the blades and too. That's one's kickass. I'm never selling that. But that's going to have to go in storage somewhere.
Now little bench grinder mounted uh grinders too with a flat plate on the side that does the side sanding as well. Like if you want to narrow down a dog for just subsistence, let's say you're out in the outback,
like what type of dog, because you know, we have the Australian cattle dog, we have the Australian Shepherd, like what type of dog would you say is the most suitable for subsistence alongside a human in that brutal environment? Um,
I'd say the kind of dog I had last and it's just a local Mongol 16th generation breed of random town and farm dogs. But me and him used to bow hunt and we taught each other to hunt together. It was just this magical combination of me growing up with my bow and arrow and him
being a classic stalker. And I just followed him around and kept low cuz he was super tall as well. And so like I could like kind of get low behind him and he knows he's not allowed to go for it until I pop up and take a shot that he goes and even if I spook it, we get so close is on it cuz we got reads and stuff around the
pond and we're just going after like scrub turkey scrub hands and like water foul and what what kind of I don't I don't hunt mammals or anything with my bow. Yeah, I don't shoot kangaroos or nothing. Yeah, I won't do that. I'd rather my friends I'd rather one of my friends with a rifle take out a mammal. I don't trust myself with an
arrow for a good enough shot. What kind of dog was he? Um, we call him a Maruya special. A really special. A Maruya special. It's an Aboriginal word for my town. Then it was just 16 generations across breeds. I got him
gene tested and stuff. And yeah, he was bombproof, dude. You could stand outside with him, no lead, on the balcony and across the river, they'd be setting off like fireworks for New Year's Eve and me and my dog would just stand there looking at him and he's like, "Fucking, this is cool, man." They're really special because, for
example, the Dutch, they they're big on a on what they call the house and house, which is like a half German Shepherd, half Belgian Shepherd. And and it's an excellent dog. They just like bred it to suit their specific needs. Would would you mind sharing with me like what what is some of Yeah, I can go I can go through them. um
Hungarian Vistler and they're like the brown Dobermans and then you got Bordeaux and they're like the brown Rottweilers. But then you got Rottweiler, regular Doberman, Wolfhound, Pitbull, some terrier kind of thing. We don't
know what kind in the gene test, just some kind of terrier. Um, Dalmatian. Um, Irish Setter. Um, Little Sausage Dog is in there as well. Dax. Dat. Yeah, the Dashound at Datson. Whatever
they are. Yep. Just like everything. Some staffy as well. A terrier. And um, yeah, it's just a mix of like everything from around town and farms. Then it's just like this cool kind of dog that everyone just has. And what do you call it again? A marua special. And that's just the
name of our town with an Aboriginal name. Aboriginal special. Yeah. Well, like it's like if I was from the next town up, I'd call it the Moo special, you know? Oh, man. And so I came back and we had
um fish fillets and chips and I've done them in like Japanese panc. I'm a epic cook growing up on a farm, too. And and yeah, so this guy bought me all this and all I did was just do my normal things. He's camping next to me and he's a tourist. I just go over there go, "Hey, you want me to show you what to do with that fish? Cuz if you take that inside and give it to your
wife with the scales, the guts, and the head on, you're going to get slapped with it." Yeah. Huh. Wow. It It's It's so interesting to learn from people that have to handle and especially that are deep in
subsisting in such a brutal environment like Australia. It's a It's an I'm in a very subtempered area. I'm not like over the mountain. I'm on the east coast. We've got this mountain range and the further north you go the more subtropical it becomes. But I'm down in like subtemperate. Whereas like we do like grapes and like a lot of
fruit orchards. We've got great cattle and everything but it's not so hot that we get like all the stingy jellyfish and nasty stuff. It's like we get a good frost every year to kill all that crap off. I've been stung by jellyfish and it hurt like a in South America.
Like when I was a kid, I was just like stupid ass kid running through the ocean and then I start feeling like I'm getting whipped. It's like p and I just start crying and it was this jellyfish and it's it hurt like crazy. Just sorry to interrupt. I wish I had my um
other PC rigged up just next to me here with the photos on it. I'm just using an intermediate laptop at the moment, but um Brian King wants to build a 2in width belt grinder with 82in belts. And I've got a 72in one and I used a three-step pulley on my um drive shaft and then a three-step
pulley off my motor. And I've got like the motor mounted on this big hinge plate so I can get tension on it and I can change me belt with three speeds as well dude. Um yeah he's got a 1x 32 belt grinder. Yeah, benchmounted one. Yeah,
I think it's like like you get to learn about the art the international audience that Psyche has like Hannah like Hannah I don't know if Hannah is from the United States or Australian or British. And what I used was a piece of I-beam cuz it's already like
angular cut square as the frame. And I put some box iron welded into it. And I had some grub screws that I put in to tighten it. So, I've got multiple arms. And so I made me own like different wheel holder ends. And then I also have other arms I can slot in that are all different types of belt rests and
that the ones you buy don't come with. And so mine's got like multiple arm frames and like multiple interchangeable rests. It's cool. If I could get some pictures of it, man, I'd send you the plans for it, dude. If you got an arc welder and just some junk from the dump, you can make one.
Where are you from, Brian? Are you American? Australian? No, he's American. He's American. Sounds American. But he also knows like seems to know what he's talking about. Oh, he's talking about adjustable from
72 in to um 82 in. So, you have like the overhead arm with the spring with the contact guide wheel. So you can like pull it in and out for tension. Whereas mine's got like a physical mounted tracking wheel on top and the drive wheel underneath.
And the tracking wheel has a spring built into it. And I've like quick steel the screwdriver handle to it. So I can like take pressure off and pull it off. But then I undo the grub screw and I hold that down, pull the arm tight, then tighten that and let go. And it kind of just always has enough pressure. And so
as long as the belt fits the arm, it just tightens itself. Yeah. If I can get the pictures off me old computer. I've got a friend on Discord that's got my pictures saved. I'll ask them if they can send them back to me. Just for an idea cuz mine's like custom
built from junk from the dump with like some square box and some square that fits in it and then like some tightening screws. Amazon. Yeah, he's definitely American. Amazon because I'm on the same page. But it's weird because I use inches in my workshop, right? Oh really?

an end, right? percent of most accuracy. For some reason, if I was a professional carpenter and cabinet maker, we'd all use metric in millimeters. But there's something about being a blacksmith. We just don't use metric when we're talking about what we're making. We still use the old inches cuz everything's old timey cuz we're hand
hammering blacksmiths, but we still have to use all the metric drill bits and stuff. And that's kind of what I mean. I used to know all the conversions off the top of my head. Um, even for cooking, but yeah, I sew in inches as well cuz all my old nana sewing books from like the UK are all in like um, Imperial. Oh, nice dude. And I've got the I've got the old singer
sewer and all that And I make me own medieval tunics and stuff and me cloaks and get around with me knives and me spears and me bow. that I use like like I know I I'm just based on on
rope so I tend to use 10 rope 33 ft quite a bit um but it kind of ends there like it's funny because I learned I grew up in South America and I learned in metrics but then I moved to North America where everything was imperial and I learned to shoot in North America
where God annoying in America having to learn metric. Not not met I mean imperial. If you grew up with metric, it's so easy with maths, right? But this fraction they got going on. Like someone asked me like what's six um 632
of an inch and I'm like uh you're using the wrong fraction. That's like, what is it? Got to divide that by four. That's like 28. No, that would be one quarter. There you go. So, you keep dividing it down. It's like, I just had to do three steps cuz someone asked me the wrong gauge.
Jesus Christ, you know? Yeah. Damn. Yeah. Well, I mean, and if you go into like mill radians and minutes of angle, like like imperial is minutes of angle and then like metric is miller radians. So, let's say if you're picking a scope, then you can either do your measurements in MRAD or MOA.
there are no there are no MOA. And You're familiar with MOA? Me, too. And no, what's the other one that means military operational specialty? MOS, sorry. And the other one's minute of angle. And that's like your Kentucky windage. Yeah.
100 yards. Yeah, you have a scope that is like a like one MOA and then means and like you can click and it's just going to be a quarter of an inch but measured an inches not really radian. I use a handmade bow and so I just learn my bow and it just becomes
natural and it's just all about the Kentucky windage. You know, man, it can get so confusing. I don't like those compound bows with sights. I hand bake mine out of like self bows and sticks and stuff. Yeah. And I hand Are you Are you left left-handed or
right like left eye dominant? Right eye dumb for your bow and arrow. I do both actually with my bow. I grew up shooting goofy which is like right hand forward, left hand back, but now I actually shoot proper style. Left hand forward, right hand back. But I can do both. Then it depends what kind of way I
want to pop around from behind the tree. I'm good enough with both because I shoot two eyes open. Oh, very. You You learn that, right? Yeah. And that's what I mean. It's like Kentucky windage. You just know where your arrow's going to go. And I can put my arrow on either side of my bow cuz it's literally just a straight handle. I don't put an arrow
