Summary

This episode features an extended narrative retelling of the classical myth of Cupid and Psyche, reimagined for a cyberpunk future where gods rule from neon thrones and love becomes a weapon. The story begins with Psyche, a woman whose beauty disrupts reality itself, drawing worship that angers Venus, the divine tyrant of the age. Venus sends her son Cupid—reimagined as a lethal assassin—to make Psyche fall for a monster. However, Cupid's arrow misfires and he falls in love with his target instead. Psyche is sacrificed to an unseen lover in a black glass palace, where she experiences bliss until doubt and her sisters' warnings lead her to break the one commandment: don't look. She sees Cupid's true form—a god with golden wings—but her shock causes her to spill oil that burns him, and he vanishes.
