Episode 0 opens with an original song [0:00–3:24] celebrating a character named Apollo, described as someone with a 'Greek [heritage] with a Spartan heart' who is 'most hated online' yet fiercely loyal to his friends. The song establishes Apollo as a figure prone to lengthy counter-arguments and debates within the community (referenced at ▶ 2:19: 'Summer brings receipts, Christine brings facts / Apollo brings a forty-minute counter-attack'). The narrative depicts him as a club-goer and socializer [1:15–2:05], someone who defends his companions despite being frequently wrong [1:09, 2:11: 'Even when he's wrong / He's somehow still right']. The closing lines [3:17–3:24] suggest a recent significant life event ('Apollo locked up / Now Olympus is home'), implying a recent incarceration or major life change.
This episode appears to function as a affectionate roast-cum-tribute, suggesting the show's community operates with in-group humor and shared references around specific personalities. The song's tone suggests Apollo is a polarizing but ultimately valued community member — someone whose combativeness is acknowledged and even celebrated among those close to him. The episode continues the pattern of the Cult of Psyche treating its surrounding social ecosystem as mythologically resonant material, mapping contemporary community drama onto Olympian archetypes. The cryptic closing couplet implies Apollo's life circumstances have shifted, possibly catalyzing this tribute; the framing implies his absence or a threshold moment is being marked through creative expression rather than direct discussion.
