The episode consists entirely of a continuous performance piece that begins at ▶ 0:09 with the phrase 'Go to psyche.' A voice then delivers an extended first-person narrative starting at ▶ 0:14, describing a lifetime of emotional isolation: 'if you ever felt alone,' living 'behind my own locked door,' unable to trust, and learning to hide pain while appearing functional. The narrative progresses through specific imagery—counting cracks in floors, words lost before landing, bruises becoming markers, failure accumulating. At ▶ 1:20, the refrain shifts to an invitation: 'If you've ever felt alone, like nobody picked up the phone, like you were shouting down the hallway, came back all wrong.' A second voice enters at ▶ 1:41 with the recurring chorus 'This is where you belong,' establishing a call-and-response pattern. The performance continues with layered reflections on invisibility and survival at ▶ 2:00, moving into testimony about building meaning from wreckage. The final section at ▶ 3:28 broadens the address to specific groups: 'kids in the back row,' those who learned to disappear, those who hid sorrow, the unheard and forgotten. The piece closes at ▶ 5:13 with the show branding 'Cult of psyche.'
This episode appears to function as a thematic overture rather than a traditional discussion or reading. It suggests the show's core concern with psychological and spiritual isolation—the experience of being unseen or externalized—and positions the podcast itself as a space of sanctuary ('This is where you belong'). The recurring motif of the 'locked door,' the 'hallway,' and the 'phone nobody picked up' continues the pattern of using domestic and architectural language as metaphors for internal walls and failed connection. The shift from singular trauma to collective recognition ('Look around. You're not the only one') implies the show's implicit framework: that shared witnessing and naming of difficult experience constitutes a form of healing or validation. The performance's emotional register—neither clinical nor dismissive—suggests the show intends to honor complexity and survival without reducing experience to diagnosis or ideology.

Go to psyche. If you ever felt alone, if you ever felt alone. >> Yeah. For most of my life, I live behind my own locked door.
Counting all the cracks in the floor I couldn't trust anymore. I tried to tell the truth, but it got lost before it landed. Like a match struck in a hallway, but no one let us stand it. I learned how to smile while the wiring came apart. Learned how to carry names no one else could chart. Every bruise became a marker. Every
failure got a face. Every lesson came from stumbling through the same blind place. I stood in the margins watching everybody perform while I wrestled with the weather inside that never felt warm. The nights got thick, the rooms got smaller still. And I got old in places I was trying not to feel. But the strange thing about making it through your own
rep is you find it still a close under everything you left. If you've ever felt alone, like nobody picked up the phone, like you were shouting down the hallway, came back all wrong.
If you've ever been cut loose, made to carry it on your own. Pull up a chair, come inside. >> This is where you belong. >> For the cracked and standing. For the one still breathing after everything kept landing hard. >> This is where you belong.
>> You don't have to hold the whole house up with your >> This is where you belong. I remember all the times I tried to name the hurt, but every honest word hit the floor before it worked. Everybody had a theory. Nobody stayed to hear. Nobody saw the pressure building quietly for years. They only saw the face I made. Never saw
the toe. Never counted all the doors I had to nail just to code. Never saw the sleepless hours or the tabs I couldn't close. Just another soul at the edge trying not to go. So I built an altar from the wreckage in my chest. Turned every dead in hallway into something I could bless. Turn every insult into kindling for the flame. Now the scars
don't hide me, they just answer. when I'm late. And every soul standing here tonight knows exactly what that cost and what it gives back. >> If you ever felt alone, like nobody picked up the phone, like
you were shouting down a hallway and it came back home. If you've ever been cut loose to carry him on your own, then pull up a chair come. This is where you belong.
>> For the cracked and the standing for the one still breathing after everything kept landing hard. >> This is where you belong. >> You don't have to hold the whole house up with your bones. This is where you go. >> To the kids in the back row staring through the window blast. To the ones who learned to disappear before the teachers asked. To the ones who kept
their sorrow tucked behind their teeth. To the ones who had to build a life out underneath. To the fighters nobody sees. To the hearts too tired to bed. To the ones who never quit. Even when the floor gave way. Look around. You're not the only one.
If you ever felt alone, like nobody picked up the phone, like you were shouting down the hallway and it came back all wrong. If you ever been cut loose to carry it on your own and pull up a chair,
>> this is where you belong. For the cracked and the standing. For the ones still breathing after everything kept landing hard. >> This is where you belong. >> We survived the longest season. Found a table in the ruin.
>> This is where you belong. For the unheard, for the forgotten, for the exiles, for the survivors. You made it through the storm. And nobody's ever told you before.
>> This is where you belong.
This is where you belong. Cult of psyche.
