The episode consists entirely of a narrative poem or song recitation that runs from ▶ 0:00 to ▶ 5:18. Beginning with the word 'Heat' repeated ▶ 0:00, the piece introduces a 'signal in a static glow' and a 'whispered voice from somewhere far below' [0:52-0:58]. The central metaphor establishes a 'nightmare frequency' as a broadcast or dimensional space where 'darkness stares directly back' ▶ 1:36 and 'every fear becomes reality' ▶ 1:38. Recurring imagery includes television and radio signals [1:08-1:12], shadowy figures waiting in hallways [1:16-1:23], and inanimate objects animated by an unseen force—mannequins moving ▶ 2:29, painted walls with watching eyes [2:13-2:16]. The narrative escalates through cosmic and biological horror: 'the moon hangs upside down' [2:21-2:24], 'numbers crawl across the sky' ▶ 3:34, and 'the signal grows beneath my skin and bones' [3:50-3:53]. The piece concludes with an emphatic repetition of 'Can you hear it?' [5:08-5:12] and the assertion 'The signal never dies' ▶ 5:14, embedding the listener in the nightmare frequency itself.
The episode appears to operate as an immersive narrative poem rather than a traditional discussion format, suggesting 'Cult of Psyche' may explore consciousness and fear through creative, poetic media alongside its typical panel and tarot discussions. The recurring broadcast/signal metaphor suggests an interpretation of fear and darkness as communicative forces—not passive experiences but active presences attempting contact. The blurring of dream, memory, and external reality [1:48-1:52, 4:47-4:51] appears central to the episode's thematic architecture, proposing that the boundary between inner and outer threat may be permeable or illusory. The final lines positioning the listener as already 'tuned in' suggest the show continues its pattern of collapsing distance between audience and subject matter, making the listener a participant in the narrative rather than an observer.

Heat. Heat.
I found a signal in A static glow, a whispered voice from somewhere far below. It knew my name before I spoke a word. A language made of screams that can't be heard. Television's flicker in the rain.
Every channel broadcasting the same pain. Shadow fig is standing in the hall. Waiting for the moment that I fall. Turn the dial, hear the sound. Something ancient waking underground.

Echoes from the broken eternity. There's no escape, no sanctuary. Once you're TUNED TO NIGHTMARE FREQUENCY,
a thousand eyes emerge from painted walls, watching silently as midnight calls. The moon hangs upside down above the sea, like a wound carved into infinity. The mannequins have started moving slow.
Smiling with the hunger they don't show. A choir made of voices long erased. Sings forgotten names from outer space. Turn the dial. Hear them sing. Something dead reme.
